Welcome to Ms. Green's Intervention Classroom

Greetings Royal Knights! This is the best year ever!!! My name is Carole Green and I am an elementary Reading Intervention teacher. I have been teaching at RLOACS for the past eight years.  This year marks my 33rd year of teaching. I have taught Kinder through 5th grades, as well as an Elementary Reading Intervention teacher for the past 15 years.  After retiring from Beaufort County in 2015, I realized how much I missed working with students and returned to work at Whale Branch Middle School that Fall.  I started here in 2016 as an Interventionist and continue to work with small groups of students in grades 1st - 3rd to assist students in improving their reading skills. My experience includes working in North Carolina, as well as working in Cascais, Portugal.  Teaching overseas is one of the highlights of my teaching career!
On a personal note, I have lived in Beaufort for the past 30 years. I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My family moved to New Jersey when I was very young and I completed my schooling there.  I attended college at Kansas Wesleyan University where I received my B.A. in Elementary Education. I also earned my Masters degree from Lesley University in Massachusetts.
I am blessed to have a grown son who is married and lives in Beaufort.  He has made me a proud grandmother of three precious grandchildren. Being their "Gigi" is one of the joys of my life and I try to spend as much time with them as possible.
Being an educator is something I always wanted to be.  My childhood experiences include some wonderful elementary teachers who were willing "to go the extra mile" with me. That made a lasting impression on me.  That is why I became a teacher.  I want to make a difference in the the lives of my students.  I do not want any of my students to get " lost in the crowd" and feel left out.  Working with small groups of students and sometimes one or one, allows me to build a relationship with them, which is so very important to me.  I want all of my students to experience success and become, as the expression says, Life Long Learners!!! Thank you parents for affording me this opportunity to be a part of your child's learning experience!
