Amanda Gunderson Reading Coach

Welcome Royal Knights and families! My name is Amanda Gunderson and I am the elementary school Reading Coach. I am originally from Savannah, Ga. I have two beautiful children, Amelia (19) and Scott (15). Amelia attended Royal Live Oaks from the second grade until she graduated in 2022. Scott has attended RLOA since kindergarten and will be a sophomore in high school this year. They both love our school and are proud to be Royal Knights!

 

I have been a Royal Knight for 12 years and an educator for 17 years. I earned a bacheIor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have experience teaching preschool, pre-kindergarten,  kindergarten, and 2nd grade. I have also worked as a math specialist and a reading interventionist. This is the 7th year I have served as Reading Coach for RLOA. I love helping children discover the joys of reading and working with teachers to provide instruction that is appropriate and caters to the individual needs of each student.
