Getting to Know me...
The Moment that Defines Who I am today....
ANGELA L. OCASION, Filipina, married
DOB: 03 August 978
She is an epitome of, a survivor, a goal setter, an achiever and a great lover all packed into one.
She says, she hurdled a lot of trials in life. From childhood to maturity. She grew up from a not so well-to-do family. Her father was a security guard and a mother who is a plain housekeeper. Even as a child, she knows how to keep a penny for future use. Her family’s financial and social status drove her to strive for a better life.
She studied in a state university. She took up Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science. As a student, she endeavors to get high grades. Though she works in the night until dawn, she manages to go school the following day , act like a normal student. Her determination and spartan strength are her effective weapons in overcoming all the troughs along her way to succeed in her study. 'til one day she graduated with flying colors.
She started her teaching career at a public secondary school in the Philippines for 13 years. She taught Science/General Science and Math. Because of the meagre salary of a public school teacher, she had hoped to find a job that is self-sustaining . A job that could support her needs and her family. Yet, there was a futile chance to realize it, because when she applied for a teaching job in the US, she failed to pass their screening.
But she never lost hope. She's unstoppable of achieving her dreams. There's no room for her to waiver for her dreams….no matter how elusive they are, she will find a way to chase them!
When she thought she had no good chance of finding an overseas job at that time, she allowed her “then husband “, Larry, to try his luck. And luckily, her husband was able to find a nice job in Cayman Islands. After a year of her husband’s employment in Cayman Island, she followed him in his work country.
There she found a more satisfying job, being a pre-school teacher. Her deep love for kids, which she never thought she had, molded her in becoming a passionate educator. It made her aspire more in improving her craft in helping children achieve and develop their full potentials. And it never disappointed her employers in giving her a longer contract and placing her in a more challenging position.
Her dream to work in US never waned. Again, she tried her luck to get employed there. Though she was very happy with her job in Cayman Island, her passion for seeking greener pasture still never got lost. And when she was granted the chance to teach in the South Carolina, she never had a second thought of pursuing it.
And that’s how she came to this school Royal Live Oaks Academy,.
She dreams and conquers all. She has an undaunting courage and strength in pursuing her life’s goals...though she now considers herself successful individual; she never forgets her humble beginnings.
