WHY TO LEARN SPANISH? THAT! is a good question!!

Spanish is the 4th language most spoken in the world, and is the official language of the United Nations.

At RLOACS more than 50% of the population speak and understand Spanish.

There are many benefit to speak a second language different from our native one

Some of the benefits are:

1. It stimulates your brain

2. Improves your attention span

3. There are more career options to choose from

4. Improves your first language.

5. Slows down your cognitive decline

6. Improves your memory

7. Boosts your self-esteem

PROCEDURE IN THE SPANISH CLASSROOM

When the student enters the classroom will have :

1. 10' A warming up activity

2. Max 30 minutes of instruction and active participation

3. 20’ Individual Written/ oral practice under teacher’s supervision

4. 20’ Pair/ Individual work.

5. 10’ Exit ticket or Quiz

NOTE: Everything depends on the topic covered each day

Hi, My name is Origaima Padilla. I am from Colombia South America. I studied modern languages at the University of Valle in Cali Colombia, I have a specialization in Bilingual Education from the same University and 35 years of experience. I taught English at different International bilingual Schools in Cali for 20 years and also at The university Autonoma of Cali. Here in the USA I have taught Spanish at 3 different schools for 15.

I belong to the Royal Knight family since 9 years ago, where I have been very happy seen my students being successful.

Dear student/Parent, I am glad to welcome you to this new school year

2024-2025.

I am sure we will have a great school year, with great achievements and of course some difficult moments that we will know how to deal with wisdom, love and patience.

To my students, I am here to teach you and help you; in the same way, I hope to see you all willing to work and learn Spanish.

To parents I am here to clarify any doubt or concern you may have. I am willing to work hand by hand with you to help our students to learn and hence to succeed in Spanish class.

In school, we are always a team, working on the same side for the best, that is to reach a common goal, to grow together to be better and better professionally.

I am the Spanish teacher in High School.
