Dear Royal Knights and Families,

Welcome to our page! I am thrilled to introduce myself as Shalonda Toomer, the Director of Special Education and Student Services here at Royal Live Oaks Academy.

A bit about me: I hail from the small town of Fairfax, SC, and made my way to the Lowcountry many years ago when I married my wonderful husband, Frederick. Together, we have two amazing boys—one in Middle School and the other in High School. In my free time, I cherish moments spent with family and close friends, whether we’re traveling, enjoying a good meal, or indulging in a little shopping.

With over 20 years of experience in education, my passion for teaching and learning remains as strong as ever. My journey in education has taken me through various roles, including Special Education Teacher, Adult Education Teacher, Special Education Coordinator, Director of Testing, and now, as the Director of Special Education and Student Services.

I am excited and honored to serve the students, families, and staff of Royal Live Oaks Academy. My commitment to advocating for children and encouraging them to reach their fullest potential is unwavering. Together, we can create a nurturing and supportive environment where every student can thrive in all aspects of their lives.
