Welcome to Mrs. McClain's Class

Greetings!

 

My name is Mrs. McClain. I will be your student's 4th and 5th grade ELA teacher for the 22/23 school year!

 

Not only am I new to Royal Live Oaks Academy, but I am new to the south as well. I recently moved here from Indianapolis Indiana where I previously taught 3rd grade, and became an Academic Coach. I am in my 14th year of education and will be wrapping up my master's degree this year. I am a wife and a mother to 3 children. I have a cat named Starla and a dog named Tybee. I currently reside in the Savannah area and am loving the warm weather. 

 

I'm excited for this opportunity to return to the classroom and put my best skills forward to ensure that your students receive the best education possible. I look forward to working with all of you this year.

Hello Families! 

This year we have an exciting new resource called the Family Room that will help you gain an understanding of what your child may be working on in school. The Family Room is divided into three sections:

• Getting Started includes general tips on how to navigate Ed.
• Program Support includes resources and strategies that I'll be introducing to your child during class, as well as suggestions for how you can support your child at home. 
• Finally, check out Shareables for quick tips about the challenges that many parents experience, like getting their children to talk about their learning.
